THE CYCLOMONTAGNARDE OF THE SOUTHERN VOSGES: A FIRST
In the Vosges, a cyclomotagnarde (mountain ride) is nothing new. Many have been organised, for many years, and in several sectors, on the Alsace side of the Haut-Rhin, in the northern part of the Bas-Rhin and even in the heart of the department from St.Dié-des-Vosges.
Located within the southern limits of the Vosges department, the town of Remiremont, nicknamed ‘The Beauty of the Vosges‘, nestles in a hollow of the hills of the Vosges Piedmont at nearly 400m of altitude. It is the gateway to the Regional Natural Park of the Vosges Ballons, of the Saone plateau of 1000 lakes and the nearby high peaks of the Vosges.
Ten or so cols of the Vosges (FR-88) and the Haut-Saone (FR-70) are proposed, as well as the famous climb of the Planche des Belles Filles as an option.
The organisers are offering a number of alternatives.

Amongst the members of the CODEP88 (departmental committee of the Vosges) are several Club des Cent Cols members (Christophe Badonnel, Francois Liénard, Jean-Philippe Grandadam and Jean-Marie Duluard). Numerous Club members have already applied and been registered. Drinks for Club members will be organised on Saturday evening in Remiremont.
